Peanut Butter Chocolate Trifle

Kevin and I have started calling this our signature dessert.  It is a hit every time, and could have many different variations.
Have fun...fyi - this trifle is often even better after it's been in the fridge all night! :)
You'll need: brownie mix, peanut butter/chocolate swirl chips, cool whip
(or 2 cups of whipping cream to make your own whipped cream),
miniature Reese cups, and a trifle dish.

First, follow the directions on the box to make the
brownies, then spread them in a 13 x 9 in. pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 min. (When they
start to smell like brownies - check!  Don't over bake!)

Melt the bag of chips on low, stirring continuously,
on the stovetop.

When melted, take off the heat and add
1 - 2 tsp. vanilla extract.  (The more you add,
the richer it will be.) Put this in the refrigerator for 20 min.

When the brownies have cooled, cut them into bars.
Unwrap the bag of Reese cups.

Chop the Reese cups into small pieces.

Mix the cool whip or whip cream into the cooled, melted chocolate mixture.
(This works best if you whipped your own cream.  If you use Cool Whip, only leave the chocolate in the fridge for a few minutes or it will get too hard!)

Layer the brownies, cool whip mixture, and
Reese cups in a trifle dish, repeating layers until finished.

Enjoy - Yum!!!
P.S. This also makes a great birthday cake...which Kevin loved! :)
